Granada, Andalucia, southern Spain. The ancient neighbourhood of the Albaicín with its cobbled streets, secretive wending alleyways and charming hidden squares, nestling under the imposing and magnificent Alhambra Palace, the last bastion of the Moors who for centuries had reigned over almost the entire Iberian peninsula. Far beyond that, looming above the entire city, the spectacular Sierra Nevada Mountains, the highest on mainland Spain.

Watching the sunset from the Mirador de San Nicolás, as gypsies sing and dance flamenco for locals and tourists alike and the snow-capped peaks of the mountains and sandstone towers of the Alhambra turn a bright crimson red, one is reminded that there is really nowhere else like this in Spain, or anywhere else.
